It seems we won’t have to wait as long as expected for the next season of The Mandalorian to begin filming, with reports suggesting the third season’s production may get underway in April.
The news was first leaked after a new production report listed an April 5 start date for the shooting of The Mandalorian season three in Los Angeles.
First premiering in 2019, the latest chapter in the Star Wars franchise has quickly become one of the most popular shows on Disney Plus and it’s second season concluded just last month.
It’s currently unclear what direction the show will take in the new season, with Baby Yoda (or Grogu) – the main focus point of the series’ plot so far, taken away from Pedro Pascal’s lead character.
The second season’s conclusion, with the surprise appearance of a young Luke Skywalker, seemingly had the entire world talking and the showrunners will want to keep that momentum going throughout the third season.
It’s unclear whether characters such as Boba Fett and Ahsoka Tano, who feature during the latest season, will appear again, with both earning their own spinoff titles set to arrive on Disney Plus in the near future.
