Marvel’s Black Panther sequel is scheduled to begin filming in July 2021, it’s been reported.
Originally scheduled to begin production in March 2021, the devastating passing of the movie’s star, Chadwick Boseman, led to the decision to delay filming and push it back several months as the crew were grieving as a collective unit and deciding what to do with the sequel without Boseman.
The news was first reported by the Hollywood Reporter, with it being revealed production would be largely based in Atlanta and last for upwards of six months.
Rumours suggest Boseman’s onscreen sister, Shuri – played by Letitia Wright – will feature in a much prominent role as the MCU try to navigate a world without T’Challa and fill the void he’s inevitably left behind.
Hollywood Reporter also revealed that Narcos actor, Tenoch Huerta, is currently in talks to play an antagonist in the movie.
