Superman Villains Who Should Appear in The CW’s Superman and Lois TV Show

With the Superman and Lois TV show arriving on our screens in 2021, we’re going to see a Superman show with Clark in the midst of his time as Superman for the first time since the 1990s.

The opportunity to see modern takes on a number of classic Superman villains is an exciting one and one the CW need to make the most of.

Whether they’ve already appeared on Supergirl, or whether they’re brand new takes on long time Superman villains, these are a number of Superman villains who should appear on the upcoming Superman and Lois TV Show.

General Zod

Having briefly appeared in Supergirl’s season two finale, General Zod is an absolute must for the Superman and Lois TV show. Zod is one of the Man of Steel’s longest and fiercest adversaries and having Zod feature on the show would be a huge statement of intent.

The dynamic Clark shares with Zod has always been one of the most intriguing in all of Superman’s comics so it would be a wise move to see it play out on the TV show. While it was revealed Superman has already killed Zod in this universe, it was hinted by the Legion that Zod will return in the future, so make it happen.

Mister Mxyzptlk

One of the most powerful members of Superman’s rogues gallery, imp Mister Mxyzptlk can bend reality to his whim and has always been a thorn in the Last Son of Krypton’s side.

Mister Mxyzptlk is one of Superman’s less intimidating villains, with the imp often being portrayed in a comedic tone, but make no mistake, his ability to mess with reality makes him very dangerous and someone who can cause serious problems for Clark. Mister Mxyzptlk has already appeared in Supergirl, but it’s here on Superman’s show where he truly belongs.

Mongul

One of the only major Superman villains who hasn’t appeared on Supergirl, Mongul’s ability to go toe to toe in battle with Superman – and sometimes come out on top – makes the villain one of Superman’s most threatening.

The prospect of watching the two throw fists is one that has Superman fans salivating, especially in live action. Mongul would bring nothing but terror and destruction to Metropolis, making him perfect for the TV show.

Brainiac

One of Superman’s most popular villains, Brainiac is an obvious choice for the TV show. The ‘Brain Interactive Construct’ is responsible for some of the Man of Steel’s most famous stories and would be a guaranteed success on the show.

While a moderation of the character, Brainiac 5, is featured on Supergirl, the original Brainiac is only mentioned by name and would instantly help to raise the stakes from the get go if he appeared in Superman and Lois.

Lex Luthor

Undoubtedly Superman’s greatest ever villain, Lex Luthor pushes the Last Son of Krypton to the limit like no one else can. Lex challenges Superman in ways no one else ever has would be perfect for the Superman and Lois show.

Lex has appeared in Supergirl numerous times, but – as Superman’s all time greatest villain – there’s no way he stays away from the show. Wherever Superman goes, Lex is usually not too far behind and the upcoming show needs to follow that same formula. We rarely got to see any sort of interaction between the two on Supergirl, so let’s face them off on Superman and Lois.
