Following the news earlier this week that Michael Keaton could reprise his role as Batman in the DCEU, it seems another former DC alumni may return soon.
The latest rumours on social media are that Ryan Reynold’s will reprise his role as Green Lantern in Zack Snyder’s Justice League cut.

Reynolds – who starred as Hal Jordan in 2011’s Green Lantern – has been vocally supportive of the Snydercut over the years and is rumoured to have agreed to a cameo in the upcoming movie.

While this would be pretty exciting, it’s nothing but rumours at the moment and I’ll refrain from getting my hopes up until we hear something more concrete.
The Snydercut is set to drop on HBO Max in 2021.
BLEH! That movie was a train wreck and even Reynolds knew it. That’s why he did the credits scene in Deadpool 2 where he went back and shot himself in the head before he read the script, LOL.
Sinestro and Killowog were true to character, but the whole cowardly Green Lantern thing was a train wreck, much like the new female GL in the comics. Hal was always DC’s man without fear, and while the writers may have found that unrealistic, heroes are supposed to be an ideal to reach for. Hated the costume too. 😛
Reynolds is a talented actor, so I’m blaming the writers, not him. I just hope the Snyder Cut gives us a real Green Lantern, not the self-doubting weenie we saw.

Yeah, that’s one of the main reasons I find it hard to believe Reynolds will reprise the role. I felt like that scene in Deadpool 2 was him cutting ties with the role for good. I really liked Sinestro and Killowog in that movie, but – like you said – they’re pretty much the only good things about it! Snyder isn’t known for his comic book accuracy so I’m not holding my breath haha!

It’s one of those things that, if it happens, will be an exponentially bigger train wreck (like galaxy spanning bad), or the most brilliant thing you’ve seen in comics movies, lol
