What is DCeased: Dead Planet?

Recently announced as a part of DC comics’ June solicitations, DCeased: Dead Planet is another story in Tom Taylor’s DCeased universe. I’m a huge fan of what Taylor has done with this universe so far and cannot wait to dive further into the depths of this horrifying take on the DC universe.

After a corrupted Anti-Life Equation turned the majority of Earth’s civilians, superheroes and villains, into mindless zombies, many of our favourite characters fled the planet and left Earth behind. Years later a distress signal brings Jon Kent, Damian Wayne and Cassie Sandsmark- the Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman of Earth 2- back to a dead planet. I can’t wait to see what they’ll encounter once they return to a world they left behind all those years before. So far, we’ve seen the virus play out from the heroes perspective and we’re currently seeing it play out from the perspective of the people they left behind, so I can’t wait to get a further look into the universe, but from several years into the future. We’ll get to see what long lasting effects this has had on Earth and we’ll get to see what’s left of our planet.

To be honest, I don’t think I’ll ever get bored of reading stories from the DCeased universe. It’s easily one of the freshest things we’ve gotten in comics in quite some time and I can’t get enough of it! I also can’t wait to see this exciting new version of the Justice League and see how each member lives up to their original counterparts. The first issue in the story is released on June the 10th so here’s to counting down the days!

Thank you.
