Report: Superman and Lois reportedly set to kill off major DC comics character in pilot episode?

Later this year we’ll finally get a tv show revolving around Clark Kent’s time as Superman for the first time in over 25 years. With each passing week, we’re over more and more information on what to expect from the show and how it’s going to play out. Most recently rumours around the pilot episode have surfaced and we could see a major DC comics character killed in the show’s very first episode. Warning, if you don’t want to know any of the details for the Superman and Lois pilot, stop reading now as this is a SPOILER warning for below!

According to reports online, Clark Kent, fresh off being laid off from the Daily Planet after Morgan Edge takes over, overhears his adoptive mother, Martha Kent, calling for him to return to his childhood home on the Kent Farm in Smallville. But when he arrives Clark will find his adoptive mother has already died. The cause of this is something we’re yet to discover, but it’s interesting to see they plan on killing off such an important person in Superman’s life so early in the show and with Clark’s adoptive father Jonathan Kent having already died before the show’s pilot, it will be interesting to see how Clark Kent deals with life and raising his twin sons without the guidance of his parents.

I’m really excited for the Superman and Lois tv show and the decision to kill off such a major character in the pilot episode ensures that the show is going to hit the ground running and waste no time in giving us some entertaining and interesting storylines.

What do you think of the decision to kill off Martha Kent in Superman and Lois’ pilot episode? Feel free to let me know in the comments below!
