The Snydercut and my opinion on this now global movement!

I remember coming out of the Justice League movie and telling myself I was satisfied with it. It wasn’t until I rewatched it that I realised I was lying to myself. As a long time Justice League fan I was lying to myself, desperately wanting to enjoy the league’s first ever live action film, but the film was a huge let down.

Every thing Zack Snyder had set up in his previous DCEU films seemed to have been forgotten and were replaced with Joss Whedon’s MCU like vision. It felt like all was lost and the first ever Justice League live action movie had been ruined. That is until news of a ‘Snydercut’ were released.

A completely different version of the movie created by Zack Snyder before his departure from the project, DC opted to make a wholesale amount of changes leaving the finished product unrecognizable from what we were intended to see. With talk of the Snydercut getting louder and stronger with each passing week, I thought I’d share my thoughts on this mysterious film.

With how disappointing Justice League was and how much I enjoyed Snyder’s take on Batman vs Superman, I’d be daft not to be intrigued and excited at the prospect of seeing his version of the Justice League’s first live action movie! With several members of the Justice League cast such as: Jason Mamoa, Gal Gadot and Ben Affleck showing their support for the snydercut being released, it seems that it’s only a matter of time before we actually get to see Zack Snyder’s Justice League vision finally come to light.

The film would introduce Darkseid to the DCEU.

There was just so many aspects to the story Snyder was planning that I’d love to see expanded on. Following up on The Flash’s cameo in Batman vs Superman would have seen the film explore Barry Allen’s time traveling abilities which would have been great to watch and the inclusion of Darkseid would have been intriguing. It’s also been rumoured that at least one Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter and The Atom were going to be introduced. It’s actually crazy to me to see how much Snyder’s apparent vision got changed so drastically by Joss Whedon who was clearly trying to replicate his success from The Avengers by making the exact same type of film, but with DC’s flagship team instead.

The Flash’s intriguing debut in Batman vs Superman was forgotten in the cinematic release of Justice League.

With the Snydercut being released, I hope we’d see some of the heroes in the Justice League film treated a little better than they were. I can’t help but feel like Snyder’s take on The Flash would have been much better than Whedon’s as well as Whedon treated Barry Allen like a joke and made him seem like a huge coward who was afraid of fighting alongside the team.

I just believe that Snyder would have portrayed Barry in a much more heroic light. And I don’t think Snyder could possibly treat Cyborg worse than the Joss Whedon Justice League film did. The screen time and character development given to Cyborg was criminally little compared to the rest of the team and from what we’ve seen in Zack Snyder’s comments about the Snydercut, Cyborg is due to play a huge part in the film.

The Snydercut would see Cyborg play a much bigger role.

It remains to be seen whether we’ll ever actually see the Snydercut released, but with how many people are behind the #ReleasetheSnydercut movement, it would be foolish for Warner Bros not to give the people what they want. It seems there is a lot of money to be made in this thing and it would finally give the DC fans the incredible Justice League live action film we’ve all be hoping for.

That’s just my take on the Snydercut anyway, what do you think about the Snydercut? Feel free to let me know!

Thank you!
